Understanding the different players, views and aspirations
On Wednesday the 28th and Thursday the 29th of March, Julia and Joe will spend two days at Walker to to gain more in-depth insights into 'vocational learning'. We will be speaking to a variety of external training providers - including Newcastle College and Rathbone - as well as running a workshop with 15 pathway 1 students from Year 9 to get a better understanding of what it is like to be on vocational training and how pupils make their choices or seek support if something goes wrong.
On Thursday, we will meet up with the Walker's 'BFS challenge team' - a team recently set up to challenge the school's thinking on BSF and their future school. We will facilitate a discussion to determine their views and aspirations as to what the new vocational learning block should offer.
